Setup aid for young farmers

Original title (FR): Aide à l'installation des jeunes agriculteurs

This call is closed. The submission deadline was 31 August 2026. It stays in the catalogue because these windows recur: ask to be alerted when it reopens.

What it funds

Setup premium for young farmers in Luxembourg, permanently open with the same four annual deadlines as the investment aid. The base amount is EUR 60,000, with top-ups of EUR 5,000 for a technical diploma or EUR 10,000 for a university degree, plus a further EUR 30,000 for at least 6 months of professional experience abroad. Payment is in two tranches: the first after approval, the second of EUR 30,000 after implementation of the business plan. Conditions: under 40 years old at the date set for submitting the application, one year of full-time professional experience if holding agricultural training or two years otherwise, compulsory farm management training within 3 years, total standard output of the holding of at least EUR 75,000 (exceptionally EUR 25,000 with a development plan) and ownership or usufruct of buildings, machinery and livestock. Submission on MyGuichet.lu with LuxTrust or eID authentication.

Who can apply

Young farmers under 40 at the date set for submitting the application, with one year of full-time professional experience if holding agricultural training or two years otherwise, setting up on a holding with a total standard output of at least EUR 75,000 (exceptionally EUR 25,000 with a development plan).

Notes and caveats

OPEN on a permanent basis: opening null, the deadline given (31/08/2026) is the next applicable cycle deadline, followed by 30/11/2026 and then end of February, May, August and November 2027. It is the most generous setup premium among the four countries surveyed (up to EUR 100,000 cumulating all top-ups, against the Dutch flat EUR 80,000). It does not fund equipment but frees up investment capacity and combines with ASTA's investment aid. The measure's annual envelope is not published.

Status recalculated. The managing body’s portal listed this scheme as «aperto», but the published deadline says otherwise. In such cases we go by the date.
