VLIF strand aimed at the agri-food sector downstream of primary production. It funds buildings, plant, machinery and business equipment, software and control programmes, plus general costs linked to research, studies and support up to 20% of total investment. Maximum intensity is 40% of actual costs, with a maximum grant of EUR 400,000 per project; eligible investment must be between EUR 50,000 and EUR 1,000,000. The 2026 window is open from 1 August to 30 September 2026. Implementation must start within 12 months of the deadline (30 September 2027) and the payment claim filed within three years of the window's end (30 September 2029). Submission on the e-loket portal, path 'VLIF steun vanaf 2023' > 'Projectsteun verwerking en afzet'.
Processors, natural or legal persons, processing agricultural products under the listed NACE-BEL codes (meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables, oils, wine, textiles, etc.); groups of farmers with at least 50% active farmer members holding the majority of voting rights. Active farmers with a standard earning capacity of EUR 20,000 or more are excluded and fall under the productive investment strand.
OPEN at the verification date but closing on 30 September 2026: around five weeks remain. Unlike other VLIF strands this one has a single annual window (1 August - 30 September), not four. The explicit eligibility of 'software and control programmes' makes it one of the few Belgian strands that openly funds digital components. The annual envelope is not published.
