This is the Romanian CAP Strategic Plan intervention dedicated specifically to establishing irrigation systems in areas without existing infrastructure, covering the whole water circuit from source to plant: water metering installations, construction or modernisation of collection and storage basins, use of alternative water sources, and the on-farm local irrigation system. Maximum support EUR 500,000 per beneficiary, intensity 65% of eligible costs. The session held so far opened on 15 January 2024 with a budget of EUR 102,421,176 and was extended by two months to 15 July 2024 (16:00), to give farmers time to obtain the Water Management Certificate required by Regulation (EU) 2021/2115. At the verification date no new session has been announced.
Farmers and their associative forms: individual enterprises, family enterprises, limited liability companies (SRL), joint-stock companies (SA), agricultural cooperatives, producer groups and organisations, and research and development institutes with agricultural units.
CLOSED, and the session dates from 2024, not 2026. Included because it is the only Romanian CAP Strategic Plan intervention dedicated specifically to irrigation, hence the key reference point for an irrigation equipment supplier. The AFIR page is still maintained and the documents (guide, contract, feasibility study, scoring sheet) are downloadable, but code DR-26 appears neither in the active session list nor in the 2026 indicative MADR calendar. The Water Management Certificate requirement was the main bottleneck in the previous session and should be prepared well in advance. Monitor afir.ro/instrumente/sesiuni for a reopening.
