How support works here

Austria has a single CAP Strategic Plan, approved by the Commission on 13 September 2022 and now in its fourth amendment (version 5.0), approved on 15 July 2026. Policy steering rests with the BML/BMLUK (Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Climate and Environment, Regions and Water Management), the sole paying agency is Agrarmarkt Austria (AMA), and all project applications go through the Digitale Förderplattform (DFP), accessed from eAMA with ID Austria. The level is mixed: the key on-farm investment measure (73-01) exists in nine regional variants (one per Bundesland: BGLD, KTN, NOE, OOE, SBG, STMK, TIROL, VBG, WIEN), with budget and granting authority at Land level but uniform federal rules and scoring schema. Most project measures have no fixed-window calls: applications are submitted continuously (laufende Antragstellung) and enter a 'geblocktes Auswahlverfahren', a blocked selection procedure with cut-off dates published in advance on the DFP. The exception is the measures run by aws (73-02, processing and marketing), which operate as genuine Calls with fixed deadlines.

What an Italian business needs

Documented requirement: the investment must be carried out in Austria. For measure 73-01 the AMA Merkblatt requires the investment to be made 'innerhalb Österreichs' and the applicant to hold, BEFORE the application, an INVEKOS Betriebsnummer (or Klientennummer) registered with AMA; those registering for the first time must apply to the competent Landwirtschaftskammer at least one month in advance. At least 3 hectares of agricultural area must also be managed (or a standard output equivalent to EUR 8,000). Access to the DFP platform is through eAMA with ID Austria or a digital signature. For measure 73-02 the aws call is more open: it explicitly admits 'Unternehmen aller Größen mit Investitionsstandort in Österreich', that is, businesses of any size with the investment located in Austria. None of the sources consulted states specific conditions for non-resident entities beyond the Austrian location of the investment.
