Agricultural Investment Support Programme (AFP) - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
Original title (DE): Agrarinvestitionsförderungsprogramm (AFP) - Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
What it funds
Mecklenburg applies four fixed selection dates a year (31 March, 30 June, 30 September, 30 November), so the programme is effectively always open with recurring cut-offs: the next is 30 September 2026. Eligible items are construction, purchase and modernisation of real property, irrigation and frost-protection systems, purchase of new machinery and equipment for in-house use (including production software), environmental and climate measures, and technical costs. Applications must be complete by 31 August to be approved within the same year. Rates reach 65% for non-productive environmental investments.
Who can apply
Agricultural SMEs under the EU definition deriving more than 25% of turnover from agricultural production and meeting the minimum size under the German agricultural pension act; farms run by charitable or ecclesiastical bodies.
Notes and caveats
The four selection dates (31.03, 30.06, 30.09, 30.11) and the 31 August cut-off for same-year approval come from the MV-Serviceportal entry published on the City of Schwerin portal; the regional portal regierung-mv.de and the federal database do not give dates. The two sources diverge on the spending ceiling (EUR 2,000,000 per foerderdatenbank.de, EUR 2,500,000 per the MV-Serviceportal): check the version in force of the AFP-Richtlinie M-V on landesrecht-mv.de.
