New support scheme for wetlands and lowland (peat soil) projects
Original title (DA): Ny tilskudsordning for vådområder og lavbundsprojekter
Data to be re-checked. The source does not publish the status or the dates of this scheme explicitly. Do not prepare an application without checking the managing body’s portal.
What it funds
A new scheme merging support for wetland projects (vådområder) and water-table raising on peat soils (lavbundsprojekter). The main procedural change is that preliminary-study applications (forundersøgelser) are filed on a rolling basis through the MARS platform, whereas previously there were one or two rounds a year. The applicant base varies by strand: preliminary studies are open to public and private applicants including foundations; water and climate projects to municipalities and the Nature Agency only; nitrogen and peat-soil projects also to private landowners and foundations. Water and climate projects are EU-funded, nitrogen projects nationally funded. Opening was announced for spring 2026 with no exact date.
Who can apply
Varies by strand: preliminary studies open to public and private applicants including foundations; water and climate projects to municipalities and the Nature Agency only; nitrogen and peat-soil projects also to private landowners and foundations.
Notes and caveats
UNCERTAIN STATUS: the February 2026 SGAV news item announces a spring 2026 opening but gives no exact date, budget or rate, and I found no confirmation that it actually opened. All unverified data left null. Of little relevance to irrigation and precision farming: this is a re-naturalisation measure.
