Leveraging long-term field experiments and other datasets to develop AI-ready decision support systems for sustainable soil management

What it funds

The topic closest to precision agriculture in the entire 2026 round. It funds an innovation action that collects and harmonises data from Europe's existing long-term agronomic field experiments and makes them usable by artificial intelligence algorithms, in order to build soil management decision support systems that farms can actually use. Budget EUR 9 million for a single expected grant: competition is therefore highly concentrated and the winning consortium will be large. Opened 4 February 2026, deadline 23 September 2026 at 17:00.

Who can apply

Consortia including agronomic research centres, data infrastructure operators, digital and precision agriculture companies, advisory services and farms. The multi-actor approach is required by the Soil Mission.

Access for non-resident businesses

Notes and caveats
