What it funds
The LIFE call with the largest budget in the 2026 round: EUR 173.5 million for projects on the conservation and restoration of habitats and species, implementation of the Natura 2000 network and of EU nature restoration legislation. For agriculture the relevant strand is the restoration of farmland and wetland ecosystems, which often involves water regulation works, canal rehabilitation and green infrastructure in cultivated areas. Opened 21 April 2026, deadline 22 September 2026.
Who can apply
Public and private legal entities established in the EU or in third countries associated to LIFE: protected area managers, local and regional authorities, environmental NGOs, companies, farms, universities and research centres.
Access for non-resident businesses
Ammessa la domanda di un beneficiario unico, senza obbligo di consorzio transnazionale. Requisito: stabilimento in uno Stato membro UE o in un paese terzo associato al programma LIFE. Nessun vincolo di residenza fiscale locale nel paese in cui si realizzano gli interventi.
