Agricultural Investment Support Programme (AFP) - Lower Saxony, Bremen and Hamburg
Original title (DE): Agrarinvestitionsförderungsprogramm (AFP) - Niedersachsen, Bremen und Hamburg
This call is closed. The submission deadline was 23 March 2026. It stays in the catalogue because these windows recur: ask to be alerted when it reopens.
What it funds
CLOSED. The 2026 application window ran from 9 to 23 March 2026 and drew 150 applications for around EUR 24 million of requested grant against a budget of roughly EUR 18-19 million. It is the most interesting German measure surveyed here for Agrostar: it explicitly funds irrigation technology achieving at least 15% water savings, precision crop-protection devices, mechanical weed control and slurry application equipment. From 2026 a simplified investment concept applies to projects below EUR 150,000. From 2027 pig housing investments become eligible again, after the federal BUT programme closes.
Who can apply
Agricultural SMEs under the EU definition with more than 25% of turnover from primary agricultural production and meeting the minimum size under the agricultural pension act, established in Lower Saxony, Bremen or Hamburg.
Notes and caveats
Recorded as CLOSED to document the rhythm of the windows: in Lower Saxony the AFP normally opens once a year for about two weeks (2025: from 3 June; 2026: 9-23 March). No further 2026 window is announced as at the verification date. Sources report slightly different budgets (EUR 18 million in the ML press release, around EUR 19 million in the Chamber of Agriculture note).
