This is the German programme most directly relevant to precision agriculture. Part B funds NIR sensors for slurry spreading, nitrogen sensors for mineral fertilisation, drone-mounted sensor systems and digital irrigation optimisation via soil-moisture probes and rain gauges. Part C funds field robots for weeding, automatic mechanical or thermal weeders, electronic row guidance and plant-recognition sprayers. Part D funds digital livestock monitoring. Applications are submitted online via iBALIS before the investment starts; the guideline remains in force until 31 December 2027.
Farms, horticultural and wine holdings operating in Bavaria that meet the EU SME definition and the minimum size under the agricultural pension act; legal associations of farms (Parts B and C only); church or charitable bodies running agricultural holdings.
CAUTION: the ministry page was last updated on 15 July 2024 and publishes no dated application window. The federal database foerderdatenbank.de lists the programme as active from 1 July 2023 until 31 December 2027, with applications to be filed before works start. Confirm actual availability with the competent AELF office (baysldigital@stmelf.bayern.de) before planning an investment.
