Original title (FI): Maatalouden investointituet - hakujakso 16.8.-15.10.2026
This is Finland's central on-farm investment measure, and the most relevant one for precision agriculture and irrigation, both explicitly listed among eligible items alongside construction and renovation of production buildings, drainage (salaojitus), storage and drying facilities, renewable energy (solar PV, biogas) and animal welfare. Grant rates vary by category: 35% for dairy, pig and poultry housing, 25% for greenhouses, 40% for environmental and sustainability investments, 40-50% for energy investments depending on type, 40% for animal welfare and biosecurity. On top of the grant sits an interest-subsidised loan covering up to 50% of costs with interest support of up to 5%. Applications can be filed at any time through Hyrrä but are selected by hakujakso; the currently open period runs from 16 August to 15 October 2026. All projects must nonetheless be completed by 30 June 2029.
Farmers aged 18 or over with adequate professional competence. The competence requirement does not apply to environmental and energy investments.
TOP-PRIORITY MEASURE FOR AGROSTAR. The four annual hakujaksot (16 Oct-15 Jan, 16 Jan-15 Mar, 16 Mar-15 Aug, 16 Aug-15 Oct) are published on the Ruokavirasto page; the period given is the one running on 27 August 2026. The fact that an application can physically be filed at any time does not change that selection happens by period: filing after 15 October means falling into the next ranking. Rates and eligible items should be confirmed with the competent elinvoimakeskus, which applies the selection criteria. No budget per hakujakso is published.
