Non-productive investments - wetlands and watercourse works, period 1 Aug - 15 Dec 2026

Original title (FI): Ei-tuotannolliset investoinnit - kosteikko- ja uomainvestoinnit, hakujakso 1.8.-15.12.2026

What it funds

Aid for non-productive environmental investments: creating wetlands that retain sediment and nutrients while supporting biodiversity, two-stage ditches with flood terraces along watercourses, and restoring agricultural peat fields into wetland or bog-like areas. Amounts are set as standard costs: up to EUR 12,000 per hectare for wetlands above 0.5 hectares, up to EUR 4,100 in total for those between 0.3 and 0.5 hectares, up to EUR 21 per metre for stream restoration and two-stage ditches. Two application periods are set for 2026: the first closed on 15 May 2026, the second is open from 1 August to 15 December 2026. The application must state the project's primary goal among three options: water protection, biodiversity enhancement or climate mitigation. Works may not start before the elinvoimakeskus approval and must be completed within two years of approval; the programme's final deadline is 31 July 2029.

Who can apply

Farmers, registered associations and water-law communities. All applicants must hold a business ID (Y-tunnus).

Notes and caveats

OPEN. A hydraulic and nature-management measure, not productive irrigation: relevant to Agrostar only for the earthworks and water-regulation component. Its two-period calendar (closing 15 May and 15 December) differs from the four-hakujakso calendar of productive investments. No budget published.
