ACRES - 2026 Non-Productive Investments (NPI) application window

Original title (EN): Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) - Non-Productive Investments (NPI) 2026 application window

What it funds

Annual window for non-productive environmental investments, reserved for farmers in the ACRES Co-operation approach within defined high-priority geographical zones. Eligible actions include hedge rejuvenation and new hedgerow planting, tree planting, riparian margin actions, traditional orchard planting and small woodland creation. The 2026 window is open from 1 July to 14 October 2026 inclusive. Applications are submitted by ACRES advisors on behalf of participants through the GLAM (Generic Land Management) mapping system. For Tranche 1 participants (2023) this is the last opportunity, as those contracts end on 31 December 2027. For reference, around EUR 8.5 million has been paid for NPIs approved in the 2023 and 2024 windows.

Who can apply

Farmers participating in the ACRES Co-operation approach located in DAFM-defined high-priority geographical zones. Applications are lodged by ACRES advisors.

Notes and caveats

Of limited direct interest to irrigation and precision-farming suppliers (mostly nature-type actions). Included because it is the only environmental window certainly open in Ireland today. Budget and rates not published in the press release: to be checked in the ACRES specifications.
