How support works here

Ireland runs investment support entirely at national level: DAFM is both managing authority for the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 and the paying agency; there is no regional layer. The main instrument is TAMS 3 (Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes), split into 11 thematic sub-schemes (solar, young farmers, organic, farm safety, dairy, pig and poultry, tillage, women farmers, nutrient storage, low-emission slurry spreading). TAMS 3 has no one-off calls but recurring quarterly 'tranches': applications are filed continuously through an agfood.ie account and are ranked and selected when each tranche closes. In 2026 tranches close on 6 March, 5 June (extended to 19 June), 4 September and 4 December. Outside TAMS, DAFM publishes annual schemes for commercial horticulture and for horticultural innovation/diversification, plus non-productive environmental investments under ACRES. All calls and press releases are published on gov.ie in the DAFM section.

What an Italian business needs

The DAFM pages consulted do not explicitly state a residence or establishment requirement. The verifiable requirements are territorial in nature: a farm located in Ireland with at least 5 hectares declared under BISS/BPS (15 ha for arable investments, 3 equines for equine ones), a DAFM herd/flock number and an agfood.ie account for online submission. The formal requirement of corporate establishment or tax residence is not verifiable from the open sources consulted.
