TAMS 3 - Solar Capital Investment Scheme (Tranche 13)
What it funds
TAMS 3 sub-scheme dedicated to on-farm investments in solar PV panels, inverters, battery storage and ancillary works, aimed at cutting fossil fuel dependency. It has its own ring-fenced investment ceiling of EUR 90,000 per holding, separate from the other TAMS schemes, and an enhanced grant rate of 60%. Minimum eligible investment is EUR 2,000 per application. Applications are filed continuously through the agfood.ie account and are ranked and selected when the tranche closes. Tranche 13 is the currently open window and closes on 4 September 2026; the next one (tranche 14) will close on 4 December 2026.
Who can apply
Farmers with a holding in Ireland meeting the general TAMS 3 requirements (at least 5 hectares declared under BISS/BPS or the equivalent in production units), holding an agfood.ie account.
Notes and caveats
CAUTION: the 4 September 2026 closing date and the current tranche number (13) do NOT appear on the gov.ie scheme page, which carries no calendar; they come from the DAFM 2026 tranche calendar as reported by the specialist farming press (Agriland). Re-confirm directly with DAFM (tams@agriculture.gov.ie, +353 539 163 425) before preparing an application. Precedent: tranche 12 was extended from 5 to 19 June 2026, so the 4 September date may also slip.
