Investment support for increased competitiveness
Original title (SV): Investeringsstöd för ökad konkurrenskraft
The window is not open yet. The call is already published: applications are accepted from 15 September 2026. This is the time to prepare the paperwork.
What it funds
This is Sweden's main investment measure for agricultural, horticultural and reindeer-herding holdings. It funds animal housing, greenhouses, crop drying and storage, energy forests, reindeer facilities, ammonia-reduction works, drainage and - the item most interesting for technology - 'ny hållbar produktionsteknik' (new sustainable production technology). The base rate is 30%, rising to 40-50% for applicants under 40 depending on the region, 40% for technology innovations and 80% for ammonia-reduction works. Support ceilings over a rolling three-year period vary by region: SEK 2,400,000 in the south, SEK 3,500,000 in the central counties, SEK 4,700,000 in the northern counties, plus SEK 800,000 reserved for ammonia reduction only. In Skåne the 2026 rounds are: animal housing and housing systems from 15 September to 30 November 2026; drying and storage, new technology, greenhouses and cultivation tunnels from 1 October to 30 November 2026. The energy-forest, ammonia-reduction and drainage (including lime-filter) categories are instead filed continuously throughout 2026 and are therefore open today.
Who can apply
Agricultural, horticultural (including aquaponics) and reindeer-herding businesses making investments in land and buildings. Horse breeding and rearing is excluded.
Notes and caveats
MIXED STATUS, READ CAREFULLY: some categories of this same measure are open continuously (energy forest, ammonia reduction, drainage, lime-filter drainage, start-up support), others open in September and October. I have set opening and closing to the first upcoming Skåne round (15 September - 30 November 2026). The dates apply to Skåne county: EVERY Länsstyrelsen sets its own, so they must be re-checked for the county where the land lies. Jordbruksverket's national page does not explicitly list irrigation and precision technology among eligible items: the heading to check case by case is 'ny hållbar produktionsteknik'. No budget published. Euro conversion at an indicative rate of 11.0 SEK/EUR.
